About Us

CIABC is the industry association to represent alcohol beverages companies in India, or companies closely associated with Indian alcohol beverage industry. As the unified voice of member companies in the beverage alcohol industry, CIABC’s vision is to provide support and work proactively and collaboratively with policy makers for them to frame equitable, reasonable and implementable legislation, and share best practices to enhance the image of the industry as a responsible contributor to the economy, society and as driver of sustainable and profitable growth of the industry.

  • supports hundreds of ancillary industries in glass, tin, plastic, and paper with a turnover of ₹ 6000-7000 crores.

Overarching Goals of CIABC

Ensure regulatory policies in India do not unfairly discriminate against spirits produced in India.

Engage state Governments for regulatory policies that support responsible, sustainable and profitable growth for Indian alcoholic beverage industry besides positively impacting Government and other stakeholders.

MANAGEMENT

DIRECTOR GENERAL: Vinod Giri

Vinod has over two and half decades of experience in blue chip organisations such as Marico,  Seagram, Coca-Cola and SABMiller, in India and globally, in sales, marketing and general management roles. He has been instrumental behind launch, relaunch and growth of brands like Saffola, 100 Pipers Whisky, Coca-Cola and Thums Up in India. He was also part of the management team which set up SABMiller in India and grew it to become the second largest brewer in a short time. Vinod left his position as the Global Brand Director for SABMiller plc in London  to turn entrepreneur and set  up ventures in UK and India.  Besides operational expertise, he also has considerable experience in corporate communication,  regulatory matters and business advocacy in India and globally. Vinod is MBA from University of Bombay and BA (Hons) in Economics from University of Delhi.

CHAIRMAN: Deepak Roy

A veteran of the wine and spirits industry, Deepak Roy is Executive Vice Chairman of Allied Blenders & Distillers, maker of Officer’s Choice, World’s largest selling whisky. In an impressive career spanning over 42 years in sales, marketing and general management in companies such as Glaxo, Ranbaxy, CPC, Warner Hindustan, UB and Diageo plc. Deepak has created and nurtured some of India’s best-known brands and companies. He turned entrepreneur in 2002 with management buy-out of Diageo’s Gilbey’s brand to create Triumph Distillers & Vintners which was later soled to UB, and in 2007 with Zampa wines which merged with Grover to become Grover Zampa, the second largest wine company in India. Deepak also holds 5% equity in Allied Blenders and Distillers. He has Diploma in Management Science from the Japan-America Institute of Management Science, University of Hawaii, U.S.A. and Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Hons) from Delhi University.
